Orlando Plastic Surgeon Uses Dermal Matrix to Aid Corrective Breast Augmentation Patients
At his Orlando plastic surgery practice, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says Acellular Dermal Matrix can strengthen tissue in the breast during cosmetic augmentation and revision breast surgery. He utilizes Strattice® grafting to offer patients with crippled breasts, due to implant complications or naturally thin tissue, the chance to have confidence and pride in their figure. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani discusses the benefits of Strattice® tissue and its ability to support and reinforce the breast. He also describes the recent success of one of his patients who underwent the procedure during revision breast augmentation in Orlando.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, a plastic surgeon in Orlando, is using Strattice® grafting from porcine skin to aid patients with thin breast tissue and crippled shape in restoring their natural feminine shape. Strattice® grafting, also is a type of Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM), has primarily been used in reconstructive procedures; however, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani has begun utilizing the advanced technique to enhance cosmetic results and strengthen tissue following breast augmentation revision or complications. Through reinforcement of the breast tissue and careful attention to shape and proper placement, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says women can regain confidence in their figure.
Strattice® grafting, derived from pig skin, is a sheet of sterile tissue that is implanted to strengthen soft tissues, support the development of new blood vessel networks, and stimulate cell regeneration. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that while there are other types of ADM that come from human donors, his preference is Strattice® because it offers firmer, more natural-looking results and can secure implant location to reduce migration of the breast implant. He adds that patients whom have suffered from capsular contracture or rippling, or whom have little to no breast tissue as a result of thin, skin or multiple breast surgeries may be excellent candidates for Strattice® grafting. “Women who have undergone multiple breast surgeries can often become distraught with surgical intervention for corrective breast augmentation. This material has given new hope for my patients who fall into the category of crippled breast syndrome.”
One of Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani’s recent patients for breast implants in Orlando received Strattice® grafting to give her skin more thickness and coverage after an accident during her childhood and several breast surgery complications. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that when she first came to his practice, this patient had suffered from scarred and asymmetric breasts as a result of a horse falling on her at the age of 15. She had also had much of her breast tissue removed during a breast augmentation that developed capsular contracture and Staphyloccus infection. Following explantation of the implants and another procedure, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says the patient had been left with thin skin and rippling and necessitated a Strattice® graft to both breasts. He adds that because of the advancements in production available with Strattice® and other ADMs, he was able to restore her tissue and help her experience the happiness and confidence of normal, healthy-looking breasts.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that because of experiences like his recent patient, he is thankful to be a part of the developing world of plastic surgery as more and more innovations continue to arise all the time to help patients lead a positive, joyful life. He adds that he is also excited about the future of plastic surgery techniques that will result from research and dedication to patient care and quality results. “In the field of plastic surgery, advancements like this will benefit our patients for years to come as we continue to help them look and feel better about themselves. Introducing this revolutionary product at my office not only helps my patients achieve their aesthetic goals, but also provides a boost in self-confidence and self-esteem.”
